Sir Bruce Forsyth has died. He was 89. A superstar with real sparkle. RIP Brucie.

Time to get excited....

It's the first signing that's really got me smiling. What a move to put the Reverend Richard Coles on Strictly. And if the social media response is anything to go by, we have a sparkling star of a Strictly contestant in the making.

Sound the Hollyoaks klaxon....

OK, to be fair to Gemma Atkinson (celeb number four on this year's Strictly reveal countdown), she's done a bit more than that but the H word looms large over Strictly.  There's always a feeling, not that far below the surface, that when the SCD producers have started taking on the Hollyoaks actors then a low wattage year on the star front beckons.

First Strictly Superfan signing of 2017 is...

She's never made a secret of wanting to hit the sequins and now Strictly superfan, Ruth Langsford, has finally got her wish. She's been confirmed as the third celeb for this year's series in a reveal that leaves the BBC standing.

EastEnders box ticked for another year

Kush is doing Strictly. That's the headline, here's the rub. There's always an EastEnders star in the mix and this year we've got it out of the way nice and early on as the second celeb revealed to be taking to the dancefloor in 2017 is Davood Ghadami.

Strictly Celeb Reveal 2017 Underway....

Forgive me for being underwhelmed but after all the excitement of 'Who Will Be On Strictly This Year' we get Mollie King as our first reveal. Don't get me wrong. Mollie looks very nice and will no doubt be very good indeed. But she'd been all but confirmed weeks ago and if we're honest, we kind of expect Mollie or a kind of Mollie to turn up every year. I am beginning to fear a wishy washy, watered down and weak Strictly 2017.
