She's never made a secret of wanting to hit the sequins and now Strictly superfan, Ruth Langsford, has finally got her wish. She's been confirmed as the third celeb for this year's series in a reveal that leaves the BBC standing.

Ruth was unveiled as one of this year's dancing stars on This Morning which she co-hosts with hubby, Eamonn Holmes. And boy did the couple and the show make it their own. In a tease that ran from before they were even on air they built up to the big announcement just after twelve. The chatted about it for another 20 minutes. Anyone would think Strictly was an ITV show, they really know how to sell a product.

Compared to the other two reveals, this was showbiz and then some. We had fanfares, we had glitter, we had tips for the new dancer from a former champion. It really made the BBC reveals of the previous days feel low key. The sparkle celebrations didn't stop there with both Ruth and Eamonn tweeting about it all day long. That's the way to enjoy Strictly. I'm always slightly wary of celeb superfans on the show but Ruth really seems keyed up to make this a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm already willing her to Blackpool and beyond, if only because this celeb knows how to do spotlight.
