OK, to be fair to Gemma Atkinson (celeb number four on this year's Strictly reveal countdown), she's done a bit more than that but the H word looms large over Strictly. There's always a feeling, not that far below the surface, that when the SCD producers have started taking on the Hollyoaks actors then a low wattage year on the star front beckons.

You know the kind of year. The 2013 kind when Ashley Taylor Dawson joined a cast made up of daytime telly stars or the 2009 kind when Ali Bastian and Ricky Whittle took to the floor and we all moaned about the lack of celebs in the line up. Hollyoaks is sort of one of those shows that never really hit the big time. We've all heard of it, we might even be able to name the channel it's on but actually watching it is another matter. Gemma Atkinson was in it over a decade ago and has since starred in Casualty and Emmerdale before becoming the Breakfast Show presenter at Key 103 in Manchester. No harm to anyone but it's not exactly Anastacia territory.

I've already got a feeling Gemma is going to be good but struggle to get the votes putting her in pole position for this year's first judge's hissy fit and quite possibly the debut of the 'you really shouldn't be here' line in the dance off. It's the lowest key signing so far but if this is our only Hollyoaks moment this time round, let's start the three cheers now.
